A Voice from the Dust
As the writer in the family, I find it interesting and funny that my husband has done all the blog posts for our website so far. Well, I wanted to finally update you on the work I have been doing.
I have edited several books for Familius, LLC over the years, and definitely more than a handful of books just this past year. They are a great publishing company that focuses on strengthening the family and helping them to find greater happiness. I love working for a publishing company that works to better the world, one book, one sentence, one word at a time. If you’d like to check out their books, visit: https://www.familius.com/.
On a personal level, this past year I completed the first readable draft of a manuscript of a fantasy novel that has been several years in the making. I’ve had several dry periods throughout my journey to write this novel, but I am proud to say that 2020 brought me something good out of all the craziness, and now I am in the editing phase before working toward finally publishing my own book. I’ve edited so many books in my career that it is thrilling to think my own could soon join the wide world of literary treasures.
For National Novel Writing Month this past year (NaNoWriMo, which takes place every November), I began writing the sequel to my book to help me better flesh out the world I want to create. It’s certainly helped with the editing process for the first book, as well as rekindled the joy one feels when beginning a new manuscript.
I hope to better update you all on my editing and writing work this year, or at least take on the actual persona of writer instead of making my techy husband write all the updates of the company’s work. 🙂 May the year 2021 bring us all better days.
